Black & White (and some Shades of Gray)

Hello, and welcome to this site.

There are  only black & white photos. This may sound bleak, dreary ,  but I find on the contrary that there is often a lot of force in black & white images.

Not all subjects are suitable. A flower, a butterfly, a remarkable landscape, are themes that generally need the information communicated by colors. Except when it may seem important (for the photographer) to reduce this information to shapes and shades.

It is true that it is sometimes a bit dark. In addition, the exposed subjects are not necessarily very attractive by themselves. This is a choice - and I  take it upon myself.

By the way, "black & white" photos are in fact shades of grey, everything that goes from pure black to pure white.
